Our Team:

Established in 1987 by SGM's principal, Moira Hearn has over 25 years experience in the Canadian meeting and incentive market. She is a graduate of Ealing College in London, England and has worked with a number of hotels and resorts in England, Bermuda and Toronto, as well as a leading Canadian wholesaler and been responsible for Marriott Hotels and Resorts Canadian National Sales office.

Function and Services:

SGM operates much like a hotel national/regional sales office and performs a similar function. The hotels, resorts and destination management companies in our portfolio retain us as their exclusive representative in the Canadian market place. We operate an effective marketing organization that offers a high standard of service and coverage. Our marketing activities include:

  • Advertising: Print - targeted directories and industry publications.
  • Technology: Web site promotion of our products and services is updated regularly.
  • Direct Mail: Regular distribution of Newsletters, Newsflashes and e-newsflashes to an extensive database of qualified decision-makers and influencers.
  • Media: SGM maintains a comprehensive mailing list of publications, media industry contacts and free lance journalists. Media releases are distributed on an as needed basis.
  • Sales Calls: Sales solicitation and telemarketing across Canada takes place on an ongoing basis. An extensive database of corporate and association meeting planners, incentive houses, special interest wholesalers and group producing travel agents are continually updated.
  • Trade Shows/PR Events: Major exhibitor at the Canadian Meeting and Incentive Travel IncentiveWorks Trade show and exhibits and/or participates on a delegate basis at additional trade shows targeting the group, meeting and incentive market as required. PR events are created and organized on behalf of specific clients as needed.
  • Other: A data base of industry contacts e.g. wholesalers, travel agency consortiums, airlines, tourist boards and government organizations is maintained and updated on a regular basis.
